Bit of music

Posted by in Ramblings Comment on this

Being the musical sort, and not putting anything on here for so long [I'm sorry, please don't hurt me... Put down the fork, no, no, not the eye, please...] I thought I’d drop on a little track which I’m sure you’ll have heard.

If you haven’t you must have been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks. But everytime the track came on it felt like I knew it, turns out I didn’t. Nor is it on any mixes I have, how odd. Anyway, I wont say where you’ll have heard it, you’ll have to listen and let the memories roll on in.

Got any ketchup?

Thanks to Heather for pointing this one out!

Apple Vs. Adobe

Posted by in Ramblings Comment on this

You’ve probably noticed a great deal of argument between Apple and Adobe recently regarding the withdrawal of Flash support on Apple made devices.  Some of it has become quite bitchy, ill-informed, and at times the logic has just been laughable.

I could spend many hours ripping this whole mess to shreds on HB, but as I’m in my lunch break, I’ll keep this very quick – schtop, HTML5 is not yet ready. Apple are jumping the gun and dragging their users with them on an idealistic web crusade that is frankly just a tad hypocritical.  If you’re being truly open, give users a choice (and this extends to your product line overall, Apple).

Of course, when you go far enough, it does boil down to consumer choice, and if you want Flash, you know what to do.  I for one am more than happy with my functional, reliable, Flash enabled Android phone…something that is  impossible, apparently.

Looks like Star Wars is on its way to Blu-Ray.  Good stuff.

Now all I need is the ability to force choke people and fire lightning from my hands.

When all you got to keep is strong…

Back to Bangor tomorrow.  So I leave you with the following video – advanced weaponry and video production facilities result in something quite cool.

At risk of sounding like a proper old man, when I was a lad, back in my day etc …

OK, so I know I wasn’t totally deprived these days but after just a few months in a school I have been amazed at the amount of technology that pupils cannot live without! It seems that they must all have the latest mobile phone and iPods, along with ridiculous amounts of music. How is this preparing our youngsters for later life.

I mean, I was told that if I wanted a laptop I would have to save up for it. Simple? I had bus money of £10 a week and I could either walk to school and save or use the public transport. At the age of 14 I wanted a mobile phone, so I got on my bike. Some of the kids in these schools are just given a phone, seriously, should we not be trying to avoid these brain destroying devices until we are at least able to withstand the radiowaves passing through our skulls? Now I know I’m not really the right person to be talking about not using a mobile but still

Am I just a relic of a very forgotten era? I’m not so sure

Any way I came across this on youtube, possibly the maker of a very finely polished sandwich?

Predators – Get to the Choppa!

Out in cinemas this summer, Predators is the latest leap into the Predator franchise from director Robert Rodriguez.  Looks like they are heading back to the roots of the first film, but will it be any good?  Looks like we’ll have to wait and see.

Ashes to Ashes Series 3

Posted by in Ramblings Comment on this

The third and final series of Ashes to Ashes kicked off tonight.  Was a really good episode, reminded me how good they are at creating the 80′s through music.  If you missed it, you can catch it on iPlayer, well worth a watch.

Also, don’t forget, brand new Dr Who tomorrow April 3rd at 18:20, BBC1.
