Not really sure where I’m going with this yet…

So i finished the last of my January exams today, can i get a Hell Yeah? I celebrated by going to the pub, having 2/3 pints of Guinness, walking down the road and buying a Breakfast Bap to satisfy the hole in my stomach, oh and working a 6 hour shift in the evening, having early slept the night before due to revision… ahhh well as some of you will know ‘thats how i roll’.
It’s been a weekend of ups and downs, there was working on assignments, getting drunk Friday night, revising, winning the varsity quiz, having my team knocked out of the Heineken cup, as Bianca has detailed below
Fortunately, the final exam in which I partook this afternoon [now yesterday afternoon i guess] went rather well, which is just as well being worth 80% of the Module.. Things like that always make me wonder whether you get a fair representation of somebodies true knowledge of the subject. Alas, whats done is done.
So the subject on my mind at the moment at the moment is the upcoming festival season, I’m an avid fan of the Music Festival, over say a traditional holiday. On several occasions even choosing festivals over holidays abroad.
Last year i did BeachBreakLive, which is a student exclusive festival in Pembrey, South Wales. (possibly my inspiration for this post, as their tickets are released tomorrow) Not sure i’ve got a bad word to say about the festival to be honest. While it may not be the easiest place in the world to travel to, the route was straightforward, and the traffic was handled wonderfully (a rarity at festivals), Tickets were great value <£80 from what i remember, the prices on site were reasonable, as a skint student, something i admire! The atmosphere was fantastic we were all students, all in the same mindset, just there to have fun, it had (for the second year running) a 0% Crime rate! Oh and if the music wasn’t all up your street, there were activities galore; Wakeboarding, Jetskiing, Sandcastle building, Beach Vollyball, Beach Athletics, Horse Riding, Go Ape!, Dry slope skiing/snowboarding (where they shipped in 100tons of artificial snow…), and not to mention all the other common Festival/Gig, shops, stalls and games. Truely one of the best festivals I’ve been to.

I also went to VFestival, which was an interesting experience due to the fact that i went with several family members; Mum, Dad, Brother, Aunt, Cousin. Most of whom were experiencing festivals for the first time, it took me back to all the usefull pieces of information people passed down to me when I went to my first festival (Although thats for another time, maybe you’ll see my survival guide to festivals sometime this year). It was a great festival, and had something for everyone.

Considerations for this year.
BeachBreakLive ’11 – Pembrey, South Wales – Student Festival.
VFestival ’11 – Weston Park, Staffordshire – Something for Everyone
Rock am Ring ’11 – Nürnberg Ring, Germany – Predominantly Rock
