So recently i have taken a job in a DVD rental store, the perks are great but I am constantly being asked to recommend films from a genre I can not answer. Horror.

When people ask me for a horror film I have to rack my brains to think of a good scary film, there are a lot of so called ‘horrors’ being released but nothing that scares, they just seem to be filled with gore and more gore.

Gone are the days when the simple sight of a silhouetted figure walking down the street in a rain mac could cause goose bumps, or when the image of twin children on the silver screen could make grown adults sleep with the lights on.

Now we have films filled with pain and torture, arms being ripped from there sockets and eyes being pierced being considered the scariest things ever.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a masochist and I definitely do not want to get into a situation like these characters, but I want the return of the good old fashioned horror .
